FAM is Closing

Dear FAM Website Visitor,

Food Aid Management (FAM), the organization, will be closing on September 15, 2004.  To read more about the details of our closing, please see our recent article in Food Forum. The purpose of this page is to inform you about the transition of this website, and our other information resources (the Food Security Resource Center) into new hands.

This website will be maintained by FAM member Food for the Hungry International (FHI), with assistance from FAM member Mercy Corps.  It is our collective hope that the website will continue to be a resource for the food aid and food security community for years to come.

The Food Security Resource Center (FSRC), FAM's collection of over 8,600 documents, CDs, and videos will be managed by and located at Counterpart International.  The resource center and its online database will continue to be available to the public much as it has been in the past while at FAM.  Counterpart International is located in Washington, DC, USA.

We are grateful to Food for the Hungry, Mercy Corps, and Counterpart for continuing the PVO information exchange that has been such an integral part of the FAM Project for the last 15 years.  We also extend our thanks to our project holder, CARE USA, our 16 members, our colleagues at the FANTA Project and Amex International, our donor, USAID's Office of Food for Peace, and our many friends and partners around the world who have supported us since 1989.
